The information received from the publication's own source was confirmed in the reception of Beltelecom to a Zerkalo journalist who called the company as an ordinary citizen asking if it was possible to schedule a personal meeting with General Director Ivashkin. It turned out this was not possible:
«The General Director is no longer working since Friday [January 23]», the reception reported.
They did not specify the reason why Aliaksei Ivashkin left his post. His successor has not yet been appointed. On the company's website, Ivashkin disappeared from the 'management' page — there is now neither a photo nor the surname of the general director.
Aliaksei Ivashkin was appointed to the post of General Director of the Republican Unitary Telecommunication Enterprise «Beltelecom» in July 2024. Minister of Communications and Informatization Kanstantsin Shulhan, introducing the new head to the team, «expressed confidence in Aliaksei Ivashkin's successful work in the new position, noting his fundamental education, technical knowledge, international experience, and deep understanding of the industry's development».
Aliaksei Ivashkin was born in Minsk in 1982. Before his appointment as General Director of RUE «Beltelecom», he headed the Republican Unitary Enterprise for Telecommunication Supervision «BelDIE». In 2001, he graduated from the Higher College of Communications, in 2004 — the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and in 2012 — the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
