Comedian Nurlan Saburov Banned from Entering Russia for 50 Years

The ban was introduced on January 30, the decision was made in the interests of Russia's national security, Russian media report.

The comedian allegedly tried to legalize funds earned in the Russian Federation through intermediaries; in Russia, he owns property worth more than 60 million Russian rubles (about 780 thousand dollars).

According to TASS, the comedian was banned from entering "due to criticism of the SMO" (Special Military Operation), as well as violations of migration and tax legislation.

A Kazakh stand-up comedian who gained fame in Russia, performing on the TNT TV channel and in the YouTube show "What Happened Next?". Born in 1991 in Stepnogorsk (Akmola Region), he began his career in Yekaterinburg, playing in KVN. From 2014, he lived and worked in Moscow. He was a popular resident of Russian humorous content. After 2022, his statements on political topics repeatedly caused scandals and led to the cancellation of concerts in Russia.
