In his post on the social network Truth Social, Trump called Orbán "a strong and influential leader" who cares about economic development, job creation, combating illegal migration, and maintaining order in the country.
He also noted that relations between the US and Hungary under his administration had reached "new heights of cooperation and impressive results" and that he had supported Orbán already during the 2022 elections.
Trump has not yet announced whether he will visit Hungary before the elections. Orbán has repeatedly expressed a desire to see the US President in Budapest and even received confirmation from him of his readiness to visit the country, but without specific dates.
The politicians last met in person at the World Economic Forum in Davos at the end of January 2026.
