Five Belarusian Kalinouski Regiment Members Sentenced In Absentia to 12 to 25 Years in Prison
They were charged with "act of terrorism" and "creation of a terrorist organization".

The case began to be heard in the Minsk City Court as part of a special proceeding. Five Belarusian volunteers of the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment were tried in absentia: former deputy commander of the regiment, and now representative for defense and national security of the United Transitional Cabinet, Vadzim Kabanchuk; former commander of the regiment Pavel Shurmei; fighter Aliaksei Kavialchuk; instructor Aliaksei Nazarau; and former commander Dzianis Prokhorau, writes "Viasna".
On March 5, they were found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code, including "act of terrorism" and "creation of a terrorist organization".
The defendants in the case were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years, as well as large fines.
