In 2026, 85% of all children in the world will be born on just two continents: Asia and Africa. A map, created by the portal visualcapitalist, shows the distribution of births by continent in the world based on population forecasts prepared by the UN, writes Thinktanks.pro.

According to forecasts, Asia will account for almost half of all births in the world in 2026. This year, approximately 64.9 million children are expected to be born there, which will constitute about 49% of all births worldwide.
Africa will account for more than a third of all births in the world. According to forecasts, 47.6 million births will be registered in Africa in 2026, which will constitute 35.9% of the total number of births worldwide.
In Europe, this figure will be only 5%, and in North America — 3%.
According to Belstat data, 58,938 children were born in Belarus in 2024. Minsk (10,143) and Brest region (10,116) became the leaders in birth rate. The lowest figure was recorded in Grodno region (6,537).
