In Smarhon, "Belagraterminal", a company belonging to the international group "Sodruzhestvo" (Commonwealth) owned by Alexander and Natalia Lutsenko, is launching its second oil extraction plant. The new complex will be able to process up to 3 thousand tons of oilseeds per day, Office Life writes .
After the launch of the enterprise, the total capacities of the Smarhon complex will increase from the current 660 thousand to 1.72 million tons of raw materials per year. The expansion of production is also expected to create about 300 new jobs in the region.
The plant is designed to process several types of oilseeds. It will work with rapeseed, soybeans, flax, and also sunflower seeds, which is new for Belarusian industrial processing on such a scale.
The company has already built raw material preparation and extraction workshops. The infrastructure includes its own boiler house with a capacity of 50 tons of steam per hour. Sunflower husks will be used as fuel.
In addition, the complex has reservoirs for storing 42.4 thousand tons of vegetable oils, a warehouse terminal with a volume of 288 thousand cubic meters, more than 12 kilometers of railway tracks, and an automobile terminal capable of receiving up to 380 vehicles per day.
The company plans to export the main part of the produced oil. As for sunflower meal, the new plant, according to Pavel Tverdovsky, head of "Belagraterminal", will be able to supply up to 50% of the needs of the Belarusian market with its own products. The country's annual demand for sunflower meal is estimated at approximately 300 thousand tons.
The "Sodruzhestvo" (Commonwealth) Group was founded in 1994 by Alexander and Natalia Lutsenko. Initially, they were engaged in trading feed additives in Belarus, and later created one of the largest holdings for processing oilseeds. The group's production assets are located in Russia, Belarus, Brazil, and Turkey.
In 2024, after business restructuring, Russian and Belarusian assets were merged into the company "Sodruzhestvo Rus". According to the results of the 2024/25 financial year, its revenue amounted to 2.8 billion dollars, and net profit — 30 million dollars.
