Poland offered to host a factory for the production of Patriot missiles for Ukraine
Poland offered to host an enterprise for the production of interceptor missiles for American Patriot air defense systems on its territory, provided Ukraine receives the appropriate US license for this. This was reported by Poland's Deputy Minister of National Defense, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka.

According to her, establishing such production in Poland would guarantee the security of an important enterprise. In addition, Warsaw expects to first create a service center for Patriot in the country, and then establish the production of missiles for these systems. The deputy minister emphasized that these plans are Poland's own initiative and do not depend on the US decision regarding missile production in Ukraine.
On September 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during a meeting with Donald Trump in New York, the American president allegedly made a final decision on transferring a license to Kyiv for the production of Patriot missiles. Trump himself, however, did not answer the question of whether he had indeed given such consent.
Already in July, the Polish Ministry of National Defense proposed to the USA and Ukraine to jointly produce missiles for Patriot. Poland cited its geographical and geopolitical position, as well as the developing capabilities of the Polish defense industry.
Germany is also trying to obtain permission for the production of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot in Europe. The country's Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, reported that he discussed this issue with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth during a September meeting in Washington. He cited high demand for such ammunition as one of the reasons.
On August 3, the US Department of War concluded agreements worth $3 billion to increase the production of Patriot and THAAD missiles. American authorities expect to triple the output of PAC-3 missiles.
Ukraine uses Patriot systems to defend against various aerial threats, including ballistic missiles, which Russia regularly fires at Ukrainian territory. However, establishing its own missile production upon receiving an American license could take more than a year.
In mid-August, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needs about 5% of the Patriot missile stockpiles held by the United States to survive the upcoming winter amidst intensified Russian attacks. According to him, intercepting all ballistic missiles launched at Ukrainian territory would require about 10% of American stockpiles.
