"Is Gomel such a village?" Gomel resident outraged by poster with Russian artists
"Does anyone even know them?"

A resident of Gomel published a video on TikTok featuring a city concert poster. It showcases performances by artists planning to appear at the City Public-Cultural Center. The author of the video pointed out that the poster mainly features Russian performers, and admitted that most of them are unknown to her, writes BGmedia.
"It's interesting, is Gomel such a village that normal artists don't come to us? This is some kind of nightmare! Does anyone even know them? Has anyone bought tickets for their concert?" the woman comments on the situation in the video.
The poster shows advertisements for concerts by several Russian performers: Oleg Pagudin and Valery Syomin. The video quickly gathered hundreds of comments, and users' opinions were divided.
Why do only "narmal" artists come to our #Gomel?
The main discussion revolved around whether the artists on the poster were indeed unknown. Some users believed that the author was exaggerating and that many performers are quite well-known—it's just that not everyone is interested in such music.
"I'm 14, and excuse me, madam, but I know half of the artists from the posters, even most of them. How can you not know them? And why are they 'not normal'?"
Others, on the contrary, supported the author of the video and admitted that they also recognized almost no one from the concert poster.
"Besides Avsienko, I don't know anyone."
"If it weren't for your video, I think 80% of Russians and Belarusians wouldn't even know who these people are."
Some users began discussing why exactly these kinds of artists perform in Belarus. In their opinion, some Russian performers are simply looking for touring opportunities in countries where they are still invited.
"Agreed! The thing is, they're no longer popular at home, and other countries, besides Belarus, don't let them in. All Russian pop stars make money here."
"Nobody calls them anywhere else but Gomel."
Some commentators couldn't resist making jokes. For example, users ironized about who buys tickets for such concerts.
"Trade unions bought the tickets."
There were also those who noted that truly famous modern performers rarely come to Gomel, so fans of popular music often have to travel to the capital.
"Sometimes good musicians come, but rarely. For artists I like, the only option is to go to Minsk. Nobody wants to come to Gomel."
