The part of the house in Gomel dismantled due to a gas explosion will be restored
In Gomel, preparations are underway for the large-scale reconstruction of a multi-storey building on Kosareva Street, which was damaged during a domestic gas explosion last December.
The dismantled part of the building will be rebuilt. A large-panel housing construction plant is working on the production of components for the restoration of the damaged entrance, writes 'Zvyazda'.

The multi-storey building on Kosareva was constructed during Soviet times, and therefore, to restore its structures, designed in the 1980s, it was necessary to adapt old engineering solutions to modern building codes and safety requirements, including standards for strength and frost resistance.
— Our main goal is to provide construction with quality materials, and we have already coped with this difficult task. At the plant, in the design department, we revised all technological documentation to adapt it to our production. It was not easy, as these products differ significantly from what we usually produce. They have a different thickness and special perimeter suspension. But thanks to the flexibility of our production line, we can form almost any product within the pallet dimensions, — explained Dmitry Zagorets, head of the molding shop at Gomel DSK.
Specialists also managed to adapt the floor slabs. Now, after special manipulations, they are suitable for installation in the damaged multi-storey building; the wall panels have also been 'upgraded'. They are three-layered, with thermal insulation in the middle, and perfectly "fit" into the Soviet-era house. Overall, the enterprise has established the production of all 'old-new' elements needed for the house's restoration. Now these elements must undergo tests in an accredited laboratory and prove their readiness to serve people faithfully and truly.
The emergency situation in the ten-storey building on Kosareva Street in Gomel occurred on December 17. The preliminary cause was named as a flash of gas-air mixture in an apartment on the seventh floor. As a result, the floor slabs of the apartments collapsed. An urgent evacuation of residents was carried out.
«The epicenter of the explosion was the kitchen of apartment number 107. The explosion was preceded by a fire that originated in a kitchen cabinet next to the gas stove,» — explained the head of the Investigative Committee (USK) following the investigation.
It was later revealed that a woman had died. Her body was found during the dismantling of the building structures. Residents of the affected entrance were relocated.
