US Secretary of State Denies Information that Washington Wants to Overthrow Cuban President
Marco Rubio called The New York Times' information about US intentions to overthrow Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel a fake. He wrote about this on X.

"The reason why so many American media outlets continue to publish such fake stories is that they still rely on charlatans and liars who pretend to be informed sources," stated the Secretary of State.
According to NYT, the American side made it clear to Havana: the president must leave, Washington is not interested in further resignations.
As the publication's interlocutors explain, the US sees Díaz-Canel as a hardliner and an opponent of necessary structural economic reforms.
