On May 23, the well-known Belarusian folklorist and journalism lecturer Uladzimir Kasko passed away.
He was born on May 9, 1938, in Fanipal, near Minsk. He graduated from the philological faculty of BSU and was a Candidate of Philological Sciences. From 1982, he worked at the Department of Press of the Faculty of Journalism at BSU.
He specialized in the methodology of analytical journalism and folklore studies (oral poetic creativity of Belarusians).
Uladzimir Kasko was the author of over 150 scientific works, including monographs on various aspects of journalism, Belarusian and Slavic culture, literature, and language.
