In an interview with RIA Novosti, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that for now there will be no new wave of mobilization: "There is currently no need to announce a new wave of mobilization. The number of individuals who have signed a contract for military service is completely sufficient."
He also stated that last year "over 400,000 volunteers, i.e., contract soldiers," were recruited into the troops and added that in addition to regular contract soldiers, "the manning of unmanned aviation troops is currently underway, which is a new but exceptionally important topic."
According to him, since the beginning of this year, more than 80,000 people have signed a contract for military service.
