Every day, the police record a minimum of 400 calls from phone scammers. For instance, yesterday, more than 400 reports of such calls were received, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"The Department for Organization of Processing Fraudulent Operations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the blocking of 12 phishing internet resources (fake trading platforms, banks, or services indistinguishable from genuine ones). Also, the possibility of making payments to 80 foreign payment details used by criminals was blocked, and spending operations on 93 accounts were suspended," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
In addition, operatives detained a foreign courier who worked in the interests of the scammers. Over 30 thousand rubles in equivalent were confiscated from him.
In the structure of such crimes, by their method of commission, the purchase of goods on online platforms leads. This is followed by vishing in the name of officials (telephone fraud), phishing, and trading on financial exchanges.
