From a traditional Russian loaf to handcuffs in Miami: Scandalous Tate brothers arrested for sexual assault
Well-known bloggers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who just a month ago were honored guests in Russia, have been arrested in Miami, USA. The arrest took place at London's request as part of a criminal case involving sexual offenses and human trafficking.

The British side has requested the extradition of the brothers from the United States. The new case is based on statements from seven victims and includes a number of serious charges.
Thus, 39-year-old Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, human trafficking, causing bodily harm, and distributing child pornography. His younger brother Tristan is accused of rape and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
In addition to the UK, law enforcement agencies in two other countries have serious claims against the Tate brothers. In Romania, a major court case has been unfolding since 2022. The brothers are accused of creating a criminal group for human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women.
In 2025, the Florida State Attorney General also launched an investigation against the bloggers after a complaint from one of the victims.
The arrest in the US occurred against the backdrop of the Tate brothers' recent high-profile visit to Russia in June. At that time, the bloggers became some of the most prominent guests at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
At the Russian airport, the scandalous influencers were greeted with a "karavai" (traditional bread loaf), folk dances, and the song "Matushka" (Mother Russia).
During the tour, Andrew Tate managed to fire a tank while "Katyusha" played in the background at a training ground.
Independent analysts note that inviting such figures to major state events perfectly fits Moscow's strategy to expand its information influence. For years, the Kremlin has been trying to strengthen its soft power in the West by working with loyal foreign bloggers and activists willing to broadcast desired narratives in exchange for content and funding.
Andrew Tate is a former professional kickboxer who gained a millionaire audience through videos about his wealthy lifestyle, expensive cars, and "male success." He is known for aggressive, sexist, and misogynistic statements.
