"This is an entirely logical event, not a private case at all," the dissident reflects.
Dissident Vyachaslau Siuchyk commented to "Radio Racyja" on the situation of 21-year-old Belarusian Veranika, who was denied international protection in Poland. Her mother served nine months under a political article, and her sister was held for four days, but at the time of their persecution, the girl was already an adult. She herself had no arrests or judicial persecution, and her face was not visible in the protest photos she submitted.
Siuchyk, however, is convinced that the reason why the Poles did not grant the girl international protection is the relocation of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Office to Warsaw.
He says that this incident is not a personal matter, but a change in Poland's policy towards Belarusians. "I officially warned that Belarusians in Poland would have problems in connection with the office's relocation. A very logical event, not a private case at all," Siuchyk argues.
