Syrskyi dismissed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the AFU
Mykhailo Drapatyi, who previously served as commander of the Joint Forces Group of the AFU, has been appointed to his place.

«I have decided that Mykhailo Drapatyi will become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with Mykhailo, Yevhen Khmara, and Pavlo Polis, we have determined how the structure of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be updated,» said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He also added:
«The fact remains: Oleksandr Syrskyi ensured Ukraine's results in the defense of Kyiv, in the Kharkiv offensive operation, and in the Kursk operation. A significant path has been covered, Ukraine's defense continues, and a dignified attitude towards every warrior is necessary. I am grateful to Oleksandr Syrskyi and every one of our warriors for Ukraine's strong positions at the front. I am grateful to Mykhailo Drapatyi for precisely this perspective. Today, with Oleksandr Syrskyi and Andriy Hnatov, we discussed further formats of service and the proper handover of affairs.»
«The desire in all of us is one – victory over the enemy and achieving such conditions on the front and in pressuring Russia that would allow forcing Russia into peace. Tomorrow we will formalize all decisions. From this situation, Ukraine must emerge stronger, and it will be more difficult for Russia. Glory to Ukraine!» — Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded his speech.
