People are unable to find the drug "Ferretab Comp" in pharmacies – a product containing iron and folic acid, used for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia and latent iron deficiency. In Belarus, it is available without a prescription. Now, Belarusians are discussing on Threads where to find the medicine and what can replace it, Hrodna.life noticed .
"Iron-deficient people, attention, question: where did 'Ferretab' disappear to from Belarus?" — wrote one user.
According to data from the website 103.by, the drug is currently out of stock in all pharmacies in Belarus.
Meanwhile, on the Tabletka.by website, Minsk resident Natalia asked as early as June 16 when "Ferretab Comp" would appear in the capital's pharmacies. In response, she was informed: "4th quarter." In Threads, under the Belarusian's post, someone clarified that the drug is temporarily unavailable due to re-registration.
However, according to the State Register of Medicinal Products, the drug "Ferretab" has an indefinite registration in Belarus.
Possibly, one of the reasons for the drug's disappearance could be quality problems with certain batches. A year ago — in August 2025 — the Ministry of Health, based on a notification from "Gosfarmnadzor" (State Pharmaceutical Supervision), decided to confiscate two specific batches of "Ferretab Comp" capsules from the Austrian manufacturer G.L. Pharma GmbH — series G06831 and F06988 — from circulation. The Republican Control and Analytical Laboratory deemed them substandard due to non-compliance with the quantitative determination of bivalent iron.
Some Belarusians have also encountered the absence of other iron supplements. One user said she couldn't buy "Tardiferon" in Shchuchyn and is now going to travel to Grodno for the medicine:
"Yesterday I couldn't buy 'Tardiferon' in Shchuchyn; I'll have to travel 60 km to Grodno, where it supposedly is. It perfectly raises my ferritin and my quality of life at the same time."
"Tardiferon" is indeed not available in Shchuchyn, nor in Mosty or Byarozauka. But it is available for sale, for example, in Astravets, Vaukavysk, Svislach, Slonim, Grodno, and Lida, according to 103.by data.
Other discussion participants advise searching for drugs through pharmacy websites and checking availability in different cities. One user said she found "Ferretab" in Baranavichy a month ago and later ordered the drug from Russia.
To the question of how to order medicines from Russia, users replied that they bought the drug through Telegram chats.
In the comments, several alternatives to "Ferretab" are suggested. Among them are the already mentioned "Tardiferon," "Tot'hema," and other iron supplements.
However, users note that iron supplements do not suit everyone equally, so it is not advisable to independently change a doctor-prescribed remedy.
