Ahead of the solemn events near the Victory Monument, scheduled for May 9, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced in the city. This was reported by the capital's State Automobile Inspectorate.

The first closures are expected already on May 6 — from 12:00 to 13:30. Then the restrictions will be repeated on May 7 in the evening — from 18:30 to 20:00. During these hours, traffic will be completely closed in both directions on a number of key streets in the very center of the capital.
Niezaležnasci Avenue will be affected by the restrictions on the section from Yanka Kupaly Street to Kazlova Street. Also, passage will be unavailable on Zakharava Street — from Niezaležnasci Avenue to Pieršamajskaja Street, and on Kisialiova Street — from the avenue to Čyrvonaja Street.
Such measures are explained by preparations for festive events and the need to ensure safety during their conduct. Drivers are asked to take changes into account in advance and, if possible, adjust their routes to avoid traffic jams.
