Nausėda's Advisor: Amidst Russia's Accusations Against Lithuania, Provocations Are Possible
Amidst Russia's accusations against Lithuania, alleging that it provides airspace for Ukrainian drone attacks, very serious provocations against the country are possible, stated the president's national security advisor Deividas Matulionis, reports LRT.

The advisor called the accusations themselves absurd.
"This is absurd, and in such circumstances, very serious provocations against us are possible," Deividas Matulionis stated on Tuesday on Žinių radijas.
He did not specify what exactly he meant, but emphasized that it concerns not only propaganda in the Russian public sphere, but also the activities of the country's special services.
"I would not want to go into details, as this is non-public information, but the situation has significantly escalated. According to our assessment, these were not only matters of Russian propaganda. Everything went much deeper — from the relevant Russian structures," said the president's advisor.
Thus, the official responded to a request to comment in more detail on Lithuanian President Nausėda's warning to "warring European countries" not to use Lithuanian territory for drone attacks.
Last week, Gitanas Nausėda stated that this would be a gross violation of sovereignty and international law.
According to Matulionis, this message was primarily addressed to Russia, as it is evident that Russia is increasingly escalating this topic.
"We had to state very clearly that we protect our sovereignty, our territory, and do not directly participate in military actions, although we have provided and will continue to provide support to Ukraine," the advisor emphasized.
Amidst the increasing detection of Ukrainian drone movements in the airspace of the Baltic countries in recent months, Moscow accuses them of providing airspace for drone attacks on Russian energy and military infrastructure.
In recent weeks, Russian media have also speculated that allegedly due to the Baltic countries allowing Ukrainian drones to use their airspace, a threat to the security of the Kaliningrad region arises.
It would be impossible to get there from Ukraine without crossing the border of Poland or Lithuania.
Representatives of the Baltic countries and other NATO officials claim that Ukrainian drones ended up in the Baltic countries after Russia diverted them off course using electronic warfare means.
