In Mahiliou, a teacher will be tried for an incident during a lesson
According to materials from the Mahiliou Region Prosecutor's Office, in December 2025, during a lesson, a physical education teacher at one of Mahiliou's schools briefly left the sports hall, leaving the children unsupervised. She entrusted two high school students with monitoring the younger pupils.

While fooling around, the older students began to toss second-graders and throw them onto sports mats. As a result, one of the younger pupils fell and sustained a closed compression fracture of the thoracic spine, which is classified as a less severe injury.
The investigation believes that the teacher improperly performed her duties to ensure the safety of the children. She is charged under Part 1 of Art. 165 of the Criminal Code for non-performance of official duties, which resulted in harm to a minor's health.
The case has been sent to court. A measure of restraint — a written undertaking not to leave the country — has been chosen for the teacher.
