Yana Halimskaya is 21 years old. She is originally from Pinsk. In 2021, she finished school. A year later, she went to Poland, where she first enrolled in a preparatory «zero» year in Krakow, and then — at university. It is not exactly known whether Halimskaya managed to complete her studies.
It is also unknown whether she returned to Belarus or went there to visit her parents. But she was arrested in the second half of last year and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
Yana was convicted in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361‑4 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — «facilitating extremist activity». The exact circumstances of her case are unknown.
The girl was sentenced to restricted freedom.
Recently, Halimskaya has been trying to earn a living as a tutor: since January 2026, she has been teaching Polish and Belarusian languages.
