The roe deer was taken for treatment, the yak was moved to a separate enclosure. What has changed in "Dukorski Mayontak" after the scandal

Numerous inspections were sent to the complex, including from the Ministry of Nature and the regional veterinary service.

The story about the terrible condition of animals in the "Dukorski Mayontak" tourist complex caused a huge resonance on social media. The video, filmed by Minsk resident Tatsiana Dubrouskaya and titled "This is a concentration camp", gained over a million views in just one day.

People were shocked by the condition of the animals: an unhealing purulent wound on the yak, covered in midges, and a limping roe deer.

The ethnopark's management explained the injuries with natural causes (claiming that if the yak was born with such a wound, nothing could be done, and the roe deer suffered a sprain), but this did not convince the public.

As a result, numerous inspections were sent to the complex, including from the Ministry of Nature and the regional veterinary service.

Oleg Karpovich, Chief Veterinarian of the Minsk region, told STB that the sick roe deer was taken for inpatient treatment to the Pukhavichy District Veterinary Station.

The three-year-old yak was moved to a separate enclosure, its purulent wound was finally treated, and now its health is not threatened.

During the inspection, an important factor contributing to the neglected state of the animals was revealed: in "Dukorski Mayontak", where dozens of animals are kept, there was no full-time veterinary doctor.

Now, according to the STB report, a medical position is being introduced: a full-time veterinarian will appear here in the near future for daily supervision of the animals.

But the inspections of the complex continue.
