«Our debut last year at Burning Man made a real sensation: our "Laznia" (bathhouse) and "Draniki" (potato pancakes) received many positive reviews, and some even called MARA the best camp of the season. In 2026, we will bring back to the desert what we are most proud of – our traditions, culture, and heartfelt warmth,» — writes the team.
The Belarusian camp will have three components:
- LAZNIA — a ritual of body and spirit cleansing;
- DRANIKI — a hospitality center;
- DRACAR — an art car for night travels.
Plus a community of 60 people who together share their traditions with the world. You are invited to join the initiative.
Mara Camp appeared last year thanks to Vondel Digital agency, founded by former political prisoner Alexander Vasilevich.
The Burning Man festival in the USA takes place annually. During the event, a peculiar city emerges, where almost everything that happens is entirely created by its inhabitants. Works of contemporary art, often of fantastic forms, are installed in the desert. Some of them are burned by their creators before the end of the festival.
The culmination of the festival is the burning of a colossal human sculpture.
This year, the Burning Man festival will take place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada from August 30 to September 7. The main theme of the festival is creative interpretations of the cosmic tree, however, artistic installations are welcomed and encouraged in Black Rock City regardless of whether they embody this year's theme or not.
