The Museum of Poetess Yauheniya Yanischyts moved to Pinsk. Now the entire exhibition fits on two shelves
Exhibits from the liquidated village school have finally found a new home in the Museum of Belarusian Polesia. However, in a very reduced format.
Photos of how the exhibition currently looks were published on Threads by a museum visitor. Yauheniya Yanischyts' belongings were displayed in the Museum of Belarusian Polesia in Pinsk. The entire legacy of the poetess that the organizers could present to visitors occupied only two shelves in one glass display case.
In the comments under the publication, users note that the former village museum housed significantly more interesting exhibits. Commentators call the current format of presenting the poetess's memory a "disgrace."
The story of the exhibition's relocation dates back to last year. As we previously wrote, in autumn 2025, the school in the village of Parechcha, Pinsk district, was closed. It was there that Yanischyts studied in her senior years, and her museum also operated there for a long time. After the liquidation of the educational institution, the exhibits were simply packed into boxes and taken to the Pinsk District Library. The Ethnographic Museum in the neighboring village of Merchytsy then refused to accept these items, despite having available space.
After the situation gained significant public resonance, the Ministry of Culture intervened. The department deemed it appropriate to transfer the People's Museum of Yauheniya Yanischyts specifically to the Museum of Belarusian Polesia. It was then reported that the state institution agreed to accept the exhibits, but the scale and format of their display were not announced at that time.
