"I cannot share all the details with you, but my state needs a very significant number of anti-ballistic capabilities. I received a result, but I cannot share now what that result was, but I did it. I had a goal when I sent the letter to Putin, and I think I got the result that was needed," Zelenskyy said.
In an open letter to Putin on June 4, Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a personal meeting with him to discuss ending the war and stated that Ukraine is ready for direct negotiations between the leaders of the two states.
US President Donald Trump stated that he generally considers such a meeting positive.
Putin, in turn, said that he has no intention of holding a meeting with Zelenskyy, because "the Ukrainian side's aim is to stop our offensive, and we need agreements." He also called the open method of communication chosen by Zelenskyy "incorrect."
