An American B-52 bomber crashed shortly after takeoff. The incident occurred at Edwards Air Force Base in California, CNN reports.

"A U.S. Air Force Boeing B-52 Stratofortress aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff at Edwards Airfield at 11:20 AM. Emergency services immediately arrived at the scene, and the situation is being clarified," the airbase reported.
The number of people on board and whether there are any casualties has not yet been specified.
Coincidentally, on the same day, a Russian Tu-22M3 strategic supersonic bomber also crashed in the Irkutsk region on the banks of the Angara River near the city of Svirsk.
