Yesterday evening in Shklov, an incident occurred at the city beach on the Dnieper River that could have ended in tragedy.

A 12-year-old schoolboy from Mogilev was relaxing on the beach with his father. Deciding to swim, he swam just five meters from the shore, where the river depth is about two meters. Unfortunately, the child misjudged his strength and began to drown, the Society for Water Rescue reports.
The boy's father immediately rushed to help. At 5:10 PM, thanks to the swift actions of the father and a rescuer-sailor from the Society for Water Rescue, who timely threw a lifebuoy, the child was saved.
