A resident of Bobruisk came to a local bank to exchange 20 pounds sterling there. The teller, however, noticed signs of forgery and pressed the alarm button, reports Myfin.by.
The banknote, dated 2018, was confiscated and sent for expert examination. Specialists from the Bobruisk Interdistrict Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations found that the banknote was printed on an inkjet printer. The security hologram and relief were also imitated.
The 45-year-old Bobruisk resident claimed she knew nothing about the forgery. According to the woman, the currency was brought by her husband, who was paid his salary in the UK with it.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the production of a counterfeit banknote.
