"My mind went blank, I just ran after the car." In Minsk, a taxi almost drove off with a baby.
This incident happened on the afternoon of December 8 in Minsk. A woman recounted how she used Yandex.Taxi services and, after the trip ended, exited the car. She claims she intended to walk around the car and retrieve her infant, who was in a car seat, through another door, but the driver suddenly started moving. According to her, she had to run after the taxi to catch it,writes"Onliner".

"As soon as the car arrived at the destination, I started unbuckling the car seat from the seat belts, warning the driver that I would need just a minute to unbuckle the belts and take the baby. After finishing the process, taking my personal belongings, I told the driver: 'I'll just get the car seat from the other side,' â and exited the car," the woman wrote on Threads.

An Onliner journalist contacted the author of the post and clarified additional details.
"The driver said nothing at all! He didn't apologize, he didn't get out, he didn't explain himself," the woman recalls. "And, frankly, at that moment I was in such a state of shock that all I could do was say to myself: 'There's a baby in the car, how could you!' â and take the child."
Maybe the driver didn't see the car seat with the child when boarding?
"Of course, he saw it. I placed the car seat on one side, and got in on the other," assures the interlocutor.
She clarifies that after the incident, she wrote to customer support and reported what happened.

"Yandex support only called with apologies. They clarified whether we would contact law enforcement. My husband and I consulted â it turns out we can't even file a private complaint against the person who provides the transport service. That is, there was no alleged intentional 'kidnapping' of the child," says the interlocutor.
She decided to make her story public to draw attention to a problem that young parents might face when traveling by taxi.
"Yandex, in principle, needs to select drivers more carefully, and not just focus on quantity. Because after this publication, I heard many more stories from acquaintances that people simply keep silent about. After all, certain requirements should apply not only to passengers during a trip. The issue is for taxi drivers to also react to the situation. To be more attentive," says the woman.

Comment from Yandex.Taxi Press Service
"We regret that the passenger experienced such a stressful situation during her ride. The safety and comfort of users are our top priority. We have already contacted the passenger to clarify all details and conducted an internal investigation. This is the driver's first such violation, we have already sent him for retraining on service standards, and he will only be able to resume fulfilling orders after successfully completing the course. We also offered the user a trip compensation.
If a passenger has forgotten an item in the car, they should click the "forgotten items" button in the app, which is active for 24 hours after the trip. Users can also contact support at any time or call the driver through the app within 48 hours after the trip.
If a child or pet is left in the car, we recommend immediately contacting the driver or using the emergency chat with customer support â a specialist will promptly get in touch and help resolve the situation. The emergency chat can be found in the "Safety" section.
Video appeared, but there's a nuance
Afterwards, a user claiming to work as a taxi driver contacted the editorial office. According to him, his colleague allegedly witnessed the situation and circulated a video in one of the internal chats, which shows a girl starting to run after a taxi near Falcon Club on Pobediteley Avenue.
Chat participants claim that the video shows the exact situation described in the Threads post. Specifically, several people wrote to Onliner's chatbot and sent this video. They disapprovingly compare the distance the girl ran in the video with the 50 meters mentioned by the protagonist of the social media post.
Journalists again contacted the interlocutor, and she stated that her incident happened in a different location, and the person in the video is not her.
"This is what colleagues think about this situation. I am in solidarity with them," sent another message user Artem, who claims to work in a taxi, reinforcing it with a screenshot from the chat.
