Orphans from a boarding school ask Father Frost to give them curtains, bedding, and shoes
A Threads user drew attention to a Christmas tree in the "Mandarin" shopping center in Gomel. Wishes from children living in a boarding school are currently hanging on it. It seems they were not written by children.
A Belarusian woman says that for the New Year, children are asking for things that are difficult to call presents. These include underwear, towels, bedding, shoes, a colorful garland, and more. The girl urged city residents not to pass by and to help the children, writes "Salidarnasts".
Some commentators, who already have volunteering experience, expressed doubt that these wishes were written by the children themselves.
— Regarding towels, bedding, soap, and hats, in 99% of cases, it's not children writing, but a "confident adult hand." I've been helping children from shelters and orphanages for many years. Their wishes are the same as your children's: cosmetics, cool running shoes, tablets, smartphones, fashionable hoodies, Lego, etc. And that's absolutely normal! In short, I don't believe in these "Grandpa, give me a winter overall. Iharok, 4 years old." Someone simply wants to very nicely cover the gaps.
Another volunteer shared that last year she also initially received a basic list like "pencils and soap," but later volunteers managed to get the children's real wishes:
