Forecaster Dmitry Ryabov announced that true winter will arrive in Belarus for Catholic Christmas and the entire following week. Gray and foggy weather will be replaced by frosts, and precipitation will begin to fall in the form of snow, forming a snow cover.
On Monday and Tuesday, it will still be cloudy with rain and wet snow, and the temperature will range from -2°C to +4°C. However, starting Wednesday, December 24, frosts will intensify: up to -7°C is expected at night, and during the day the temperature will drop to -8°C in northern regions.
Directly on Christmas, December 25, there will be less precipitation, but the weather will be truly wintry.
Forecasters predict -5°C to -11°C during night hours, and -2°C to -8°C during the day. Slight fog and black ice are possible on the roads.
Frosty weather will persist on the weekend. At night, thermometers will drop to -10°C, and in the middle of the day on Saturday and Sunday, -3°C to -6°C is expected. Short-term snow will occur in places.
