«You will live as long as necessary». Mayor of Gomel met with residents of a house damaged by explosion
Uladzimir Pryvalau, Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee, held a meeting with residents of house No. 3 on Kosarava Street, which was affected by an explosion. The head answered questions about plans for restoring the building and monetary compensation.
At the beginning of the conversation, the mayor noted that in the current situation, the most important thing is to be patient, reports «Belka».
«Believe me, we are doing everything possible to bring people back to normal life. An action algorithm has been developed for restoring the damaged entrance. The work will be carried out by Gomel DSK, which once built this house. It is difficult to say anything specific about the timing right now, but we will make every effort to do everything as quickly as possible».
Currently, design and estimate documentation is being prepared for strengthening the house and restoring its destroyed part.
The entrance is expected to be restored in the first quarter of 2026.
«The main task of the city authorities during this period, — Uladzimir Pryvalau continued, — is to make maximum efforts so that none of the victims feel abandoned or wronged».
Residents of the house, who were temporarily accommodated in the "Sozh" hotel, asked how long they could live there. Various rumors are circulating about this. «You will live as long as necessary» — said Pryvalau.
Residents of the affected apartments also asked about compensation.
For these purposes, according to Uladzimir Pryvalau, more than one million rubles have already been allocated. Depending on the extent of the damage, each family will receive an average of about 100 thousand rubles.
Uladzimir Pryvalau promised to hold similar meetings with residents of the house on Kosarava regularly.
On December 17, as a result of a gas explosion in one of the apartments, the slabs of the seventh and eighth floors collapsed.
During the dismantling of the rubble on the sixth floor, at 21:30 on December 22, the body of a woman was found.
According to "NN" information, the explosion occurred during the installation of a suspended ceiling in the apartment.
