Belarus leads the post-Soviet space in the number of electric vehicles per capita
The fleet of electric vehicles in Belarus has reached 65,000.
According to the Ministry of Energy, since the beginning of 2026, the fleet of electric vehicles in the country has increased by 15,000, surpassing the 65,000 mark (at the beginning of the year there were about 50,000). The growth compared to the same period last year is almost twofold.
The authorities plan to increase the number of electric vehicles to 300,000 cars by 2030, which will account for about 10% of all motor transport in the country.
More than 2,700 electric charging stations are already operating in Belarus (another 500 have been added since the beginning of the year). By 2030, their number is planned to increase to 15,000.
As Minister of Energy Denis Moroz noted, Belarus is one of the leaders in the post-Soviet space in terms of the number of electric vehicles per capita.
“The total number of 65,000 electric vehicles, in the context of our neighbors, may not seem like too much, but today it is already a significant percentage of the total number of electric vehicles,” he noted.
