The government of the island African state of Cabo Verde introduced visas for citizens of Belarus simultaneously with citizens of 95 other countries. Previously, Belarusians could obtain an entry permit upon arrival at the airport after preliminary registration in the EASE system; now, a visa must be obtained in advance through Cabo Verde's diplomatic missions.

From the countries of the former USSR, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan fell under the new rules. The simplified visa policy also does not apply to citizens of countries with military conflicts or dictatorships, such as Syria, North Korea, or Venezuela.
There is no Cabo Verde embassy in Belarus, so the visa must be obtained through its representation in Germany. For Belarusians with a valid EU residence permit, the procedure for obtaining a permit remains simpler.
Cabo Verde is a volcanic archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa, known for its Creole culture, music, and beaches. The capital is the city of Praia, located on the country's largest island.
The national flag of Cabo Verde attracts the attention of Belarusians because, among other things, it features the beloved white-red-white stripes.
