Fiaduta — to Kalesnikava: Mashanka, either return for a month, or don't teach to live those who are tired of getting bumps from repeatedly stepping on the rake

Maria Kalesnikava's statement about the need for dialogue between Europe and Minsk caused a wave of criticism . Former political prisoner, political scientist, and literary critic Alexander Fiaduta reminds: trading political prisoners is not a business strategy, but a cynical mechanism that the regime has been using for decades, and "pragmatism" in relations with a dictatorship does not work.

If a person has the psychology of a businessman, he acts based on considerations of profit (if, of course, he thereby ceases to be a human, but gets into his hands all the mechanisms that allow him to single-handedly control the market).

Donald Trump brilliantly trades in sanctions. He controls the sanctions market almost worldwide; more precisely, he holds a blocking stake in the sanctions market, and therefore successfully uses them.

Now Europe is being offered to enter into negotiations with a person who one hundred percent controls the market of repression in Belarus.

Sensible — from the point of view of the one who proposes, who fell from the moon and does not remember all previous attempts at similar trading.

If a person controls the market one hundred percent, he is only concerned that he constantly has in stock goods that are in demand.

In our case, the trading proceeded with enviable regularity. And they even agreed on something (the late Vladimir Makei, as is known, was a master of such "deals"). But a few years passed, and repressions resumed on the rise.

Because for live goods, one could extract some concessions. And the mechanism of repression was still controlled single-handedly.

Mashanka, either return for a month, or don't teach to live those who, like Europeans, are tired of getting bumps from another "stepping on the rake." Otherwise, I start to feel sorry for you.
