Then a fake police officer contacted the woman. He warned that fraudsters had obtained her personal data and taken out a loan in her name. To avoid criminal liability and a search of the apartment, it was necessary to take out a "mirror loan" for the same amount and declare the received funds by transferring them to a special account.
To convince her, the woman was given real data of law enforcement officers, which is publicly available. After checking the information on official websites, the Minsk resident believed the callers and took out two loans, but still did not receive the required amount.
Then the fraudsters convinced the woman to buy four expensive mobile phones in installments and sell them in the shortest possible time for half of their market value.
The woman transferred the received 40 thousand to the accounts specified by the scammers.
