Police arrived at the scene and blocked traffic on the Gomel — Novozybkov highway until the arrival of the demining group. Before the drone was removed, a long queue of cars formed on the highway, and the 'Belarusneft' gas station, where a queue also gathered, ceased operation.
Later, the drone was removed, and traffic was restored.
Around 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM, residents of Dobrush heard what sounded like separate explosions. Presumably, sappers detonated the drone not far from the city.
Currently, the type of the drone and its affiliation remain unknown.
During the Russian-Ukrainian war, Russian drones, which are directed to attack targets in Ukraine, often end up on the territory of Belarus, especially in the Gomel region. Some of them crash on Belarusian territory. On March 13, Alexander Lukashenka stated about the crash of one of the drones, which allegedly fell into a river on Belarusian territory and injured a woman. He claims that this drone was Ukrainian.
