Ministry of Education explained why medical universities will not enroll fee-paying students
Sergei Pishchou, Head of the Main Department of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, in an interview with STB TV channel, answered the question of whether it is true that Belarusian medical universities will not enroll first-year fee-paying students. This became known earlier after the Unified Applicant Day at higher educational institutions.

Sergei Pishchou confirmed the information:
"Yes, indeed, it should be noted that the control figures for admission, that is, state-funded places and places on a fee-paying basis, are formed by our customers and our higher education institutions according to a strictly established algorithm. That is, the prospective personnel need for specialists in each specialty is taken into account. And subsequently, the founders (in this situation, the Ministry of Health) approve the control figures for admission."
The representative of the Ministry of Education reminded that the training of specialists solely at the expense of the republican budget is characteristic of a number of universities:
"According to the same scheme, we carry out personnel training for the agricultural complex, for pedagogical specialties."
As for medical universities, Pishchou reminded that their graduates can expect "further practice, practice-oriented training."
"In this regard, the founder made such a decision," the official emphasized.
