In Lithuania, a drone fell and exploded at night near the border with Belarus
An explosion occurred at night in the Varėna district of Lithuania. According to preliminary data, an unknown flying object, likely a drone, may have fallen there, reports LRT.

The incident occurred around 3:04 AM near the village of Lavysas, not far from the lake of the same name. In the video that appeared in the media, the sound of the object's flight is heard, followed by an explosion a few seconds later. A flash of fire is visible in the sky, and then burning debris falls.
According to information from Lithuanian military personnel, the object may have crossed the state border before falling. What exactly it was has not yet been precisely determined.

Police, rescue services, and other specialists are working at the scene of the incident. A military air force helicopter has also been dispatched there for aerial observation. The authorities have activated a special response plan.
Witnesses report that debris is visible on the lake ice, which may belong to the fallen object. Official structures confirm that the circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified and promise to provide more detailed information later.
