At least some political prisoners were removed from two Belarusian penal colonies yesterday
Human rights defenders report that yesterday, some political prisoners were removed from Mogilev Penal Colony No. 15 and Novopolotsk Penal Colony No. 1, Viasna writes . These are penal colonies in Mogilev and Novopolotsk.
In previous instances, before the mass release of political prisoners, they were transferred from penal colonies to the Minsk KGB pre-trial detention center — from there they were later taken out of the country.
Today, Trump's special envoy John Cole arrived in Minsk. Twice after John Cole's arrival in Minsk — on September 11 and December 13 — large groups of Belarusian political prisoners were released, including opposition leaders.
