Russia did not see a clearly formulated proposal for an Easter truce in the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated Dmitry Peskov, press secretary for the President of the Russian Federation.

"It is clear that the Kyiv regime desperately needs a truce, any truce, because the dynamics on the fronts show that Russian troops — somewhere faster, somewhere slower, but along the entire front line — are advancing," Peskov said.
According to him, Zelenskyy must "take responsibility" and make a decision "so that we achieve peace, not a truce." "Later, this decision will have to be made at a higher cost. Our president, among others, has repeatedly said this," Peskov noted.
Prior to this, Zelenskyy announced that Kyiv's "partners" had asked to reduce the number of strikes on Russian oil facilities amid the global energy crisis caused by the war in Iran. In response, the Ukrainian president proposed declaring a truce for the period of Orthodox Easter, which will be celebrated on April 12.
