Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves shrunk to a one-year low
As of July 1, Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to 14 billion 156 million dollars, the National Bank reported . This is the lowest figure since the beginning of 2026. The previous minimum was recorded on January 1 – 14 billion 423 million dollars.

During June, the amount of international reserves decreased by almost 882 million dollars. According to the National Bank, the main reason was the decrease in world gold prices.
Over the month, gold depreciated by approximately 12% — from about 4500 to 4000 dollars per ounce. Analysts link this to the strengthening of the US dollar and a decrease in tensions in the Middle East, which also affected oil prices.
At the same time, the foreign currency component of reserves increased by 24.5 million dollars in June. This may be related to the purchase of foreign currency in the domestic market.
According to the latest published data, in May, the supply of foreign currency in Belarus exceeded demand by almost 178 million dollars. The largest contribution to this was made by individuals, who sold 310.5 million dollars more in foreign currency than they bought.
