The guy who stood up for an 11-year-old girl in a Gomel trolleybus has been found, and her abuser detained
At the end of March, the mother of a Gomel schoolgirl told in Threads that an unknown man was bothering her 11-year-old daughter on a trolleybus. According to her, another passenger intervened – a young guy who got off with the girl at her stop and scared off the stranger. The woman wanted to find the guy to thank him. After some time it became known: the rescuer was found, and the man who was bothering the girl was detained, writes 'Onliner'.

The same Ivan who helped the girl on the trolleybus
The incident occurred on the afternoon of March 31 on a trolleybus that was traveling along a route passing through the 'Gomel' department store and the 'Lokomotiv' stadium. Here's what the guy who saved the girl told a correspondent from 'Belarus 4':
"At first, it seemed to me like a normal conversation. The man introduced himself as an acquaintance of her parents, saying that the girl had simply forgotten him. But then I saw the girl herself: her eyes, her trembling hands — and it was clear that something was wrong. I got involved in this conflict at the moment he was handing a candy to the girl, who was already completely bewildered and didn't know what to do. After that, there was a small conflict with the man himself: he was trying to shield me from the girl, telling her to stay put.'"
The rescuer turned out to be a guy named Ivan — a student at a local university. He got off with the girl at her stop. For some time, the stranger continued to follow them, but after the guy decided to approach him and ask what was going on, the stranger turned around and went in the opposite direction.
Ivan walked the schoolgirl all the way home and also managed to record the persistent stranger on his mobile phone. He has already been detained by the police.
"The citizen has been identified, and work is being carried out with him in accordance with the law," said Vladimir Savchenko, head of the Sovetsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Gomel.
This story was widely discussed on social media. Users recalled similar stories from their childhood, but mostly praised the guy for his actions, noting that it "restores faith in humanity" and that "the guy is a real man."
