Governors of two Russian regions bordering Ukraine are being changed
The governors of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions are leaving their posts.

Vyacheslav Gladkov
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the head of the Belgorod region, submitted a request for early termination of his powers. Vladimir Putin accepted his resignation and appointed Alexander Shuvaev — deputy head of the Irkutsk region and a participant in the war with Ukraine — as acting governor.
Also leaving his post is Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region. Yegor Kovalchuk will temporarily manage the region.
Rumors about Gladkov's possible resignation appeared several weeks ago. According to a source of the "Vedomosti" publication, close to the administration of the Russian president, the quality of life and the level of support for the authorities in the region have worsened, which is why the Kremlin might have considered a change of leadership expedient.
In mid-April, Gladkov went on a two-week vacation, which was later extended. Today, however, he commented on a railway accident that occurred as a result of a fallen Russian bomb.
