Former KGB officer arrested upon returning from Poland. He is accused of "treason"
Ihar Sutyra was detained on April 10.

He is a former KGB officer who left the agency about 10 years ago. The 39-year-old man was detained shortly after returning from Poland, Viasna writes.
Ihar, in addition to Belarusian citizenship, also holds Polish citizenship.
After leaving the KGB around 2014, Ihar took up programming. He lived in Poland for several years, but in April, he came to Belarus, where he was detained.
He is charged under Article 356 of the Criminal Code (treason). Sutyra is currently held in the KGB pre-trial detention center.
He has a wife and a minor daughter remaining at large.
