Drunk 24-year-old man attacked police officers after a festival in Vaukavysk

He grabbed one by the uniform, and hit the other in the face.

Vaukavysk police officers detained a 24-year-old Minsk resident who, in a state of severe alcoholic intoxication, attacked patrol and guard service employees, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee reported.

The incident occurred on May 30 in the Vaukavysk district, where the "PROzharka" festival was taking place.

According to the police, after the official closing of the venue, patrol and guard service officers noticed a young man loudly shouting insults at police officers.

“He did not react to the remarks. Instead, the 24-year-old Minsk resident attacked the officers: he grabbed one by the uniform, and hit the other in the face,” the police detailed the incident.

The offender was detained. The Minsk resident could not explain the motives of his actions, citing that he had drunk too much alcohol and was not in control of his actions.

The man faces up to 7 years.
