Car Plows Into Group of Pedestrians at High Speed in Modena, Italy
At least 12 people were injured, some of them in serious condition.

According to Italian media reports, the car was traveling at high speed along Via Emilia street in the center of Modena. En route, it struck several pedestrians, after which it crashed into a shop window.
"We saw the car approaching — it was heading straight for the sidewalk. Then it suddenly accelerated. It was going at least a hundred kilometers per hour, we saw people flying into the air," eyewitnesses said.
The driver of the car also sustained injuries in the collision and after the accident fled on foot, reportedly stabbing a person who tried to stop him. Nevertheless, several other people chased after him, and with their help, police officers soon apprehended him.
According to Il Giornale, the man in question is a 31-year-old of Tunisian origin with no prior convictions.
