And called the massive attack a response to "Ukraine's terrorist attacks."

Russia's Ministry of Defense officially stated that the night's massive strike on Ukraine was carried out using the 'Oreshnik' missile system, as well as 'Iskander', 'Kinzhal', and 'Zircon' missiles.
The Russian department stated that the targets were "military command facilities," and the attack itself was a response to "Ukraine's terrorist attacks on civilian objects in the territory of the Russian Federation."
"The strike targets have been achieved, all designated objects have been hit," the statement said.
This is already the third instance of Russia using the 'Oreshnik' missile system. Previously, the Russian Federation struck the 'Yuzhmash' plant in November 2024, and Lviv in January 2026.
According to the Ukrainian side, during this night attack, Russia used a total of 90 missiles (including 36 ballistic) and 600 drones, with Kyiv being the main direction.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sharply reacted to the shelling, calling the Russian leadership "inadequates" who "defeat residential buildings" with missiles, damaging schools, a market, and a water supply facility.
So far, there are reports of several dead and around a hundred injured.
