According to the agency, it was delivered in response to Kyiv's attack on Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai, TASS reports.

"The strike's objectives have been achieved. Facilities for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, which were used during the terrorist attack, as well as energy infrastructure supporting the operation of Ukraine's military-industrial complex, were damaged. Any terrorist actions by the criminal Ukrainian regime will continue to not go unanswered," the statement says.
Russian authorities accused Ukraine of attempting to attack Putin's residence on December 29. Ukraine stated that there was no such attack. Donald Trump also claims not to believe in this strike.
The "Oreshnik" is an experimental ballistic missile system with an estimated range of 5500 kilometers. Until now, there had been one officially known instance of "Oreshnik" being used in Ukraine — in November 2024, the Russian army struck Dnipro with it, Meduza recalls.
