Belarus Prevented the Import of a Large Shipment of Fishing Gear from Russia
A shipment of fishing gear worth almost 360 thousand rubles was illegally attempted to be transported from Russia, by hiding the goods among yarn. The cargo also included goods manufactured in third countries, for which there was no information about the payment of customs duties upon import into the territory of the EAEU, reports the State Customs Committee.

The violation was discovered by Vitebsk customs officers during special operations on the Belarusian-Russian border section. They stopped a Mercedes-Benz truck.
The driver provided documents only for yarn weighing about 800 kg. However, for more than 100 thousand units of assorted fishing gear, which were also in the truck, he had no documents.
For violating the procedure for transporting goods, the Vitebsk Customs initiated administrative proceedings against a Belarusian individual entrepreneur under Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus.
The sanction of this article provides for a fine of up to 50% of the value of the object of the administrative offense.
